We will meet early morning for a 3 hour photowalk in Bangalore's famous Cubbon Park. The park is famous for it's resident pigeons, morning runners and a lot of Colonial Statues and Architecture, making this the ideal place for testing out your "Film Fingers". We will work with real vintage cameras and put the concepts you learnt to use. You are also welcome to bring your own digital cameras so you can compare the settings between the two camera mediums. Once the film reel is filled we will fill our stomachs with a nice sumptuous breakfast in a nearby restaurant before parting ways. We will then develop the film and send you digital scans of your film exposures via email so you can keep it for reference and compare it with your digital exposures and "FEEL THE DIFFERENCE" of shooting film.
What to expect from us?
Your instructor Vikram Nanjappa started his photographic journey with film photography and has over 20 years experience in shooting films and also has extensive darkroom experience developing and printing his own black and white work for a period of five years. He also runs a channel dedicated to reviving the glories of film photography called "A Roll of Film" on YouTube and Instagram.
Vikram Nanjappa is also a reputed naturalist, writer and photographer. He likes to be described as an interested and well- informed amateur. He draws his inspiration from the band of men called the Orientalists, most of whom were amateurs. By profession, they were soldiers and administrators. However, today, they are remembered as giants of scholarship. Like them, his field of enquiry is ‘Man and Nature: whatever is performed by the one or produced by the other’.
